As another school year gets under way, the Spondon school runs commence once more with Spondon especially busy with 3 schools of our local schools all within a close proximity of each other.
New parents and carers may be unaware of the issues around the school drop off and pick up times at all our schools in Spondon so are offered the following advice which also acts as a reminder to those already familiar with the issues. Please...
- Drive carefully near school - be aware of speed and of children, other pedestrians and cyclists
- Park at a safe distance from the school and walk that last few minutes, not only does this help children to practice their road safety training it will also keep you and your children fit!
- Don't park on school keep clear zig zag markings - these are there to help visibility for children crossing.
- Don't park on the pavements - make sure children and pedestrians can get safely past your vehicle.
- Don't block entrances and driveways - be considerate to those that live near to the school
