Latest Spondon Archive books launched

Two new books about the history of Spondon are to be launched this month.

The Spondon Archive series of books is a joint project between the Spondon Historical Society and the Village improvement Committee. The two new books are “Exploring Spondon”, a collection of walks with an historic flavour and ”Canoes to Commuters”, which covers transport in Spondon through the ages.

The books will be on sale for the first time at the annual VIC Spring Fair, being held in the Village Hall on Saturday 25th May from 9.30am to noon. Copies of the books will also then be on sale from various local shops and pubs too, each priced £2.50.

The first two books in the series - “Clubs and Societies” and “The Malt Shovel” - are also still available.
