The two year project between Derby City Council and Severn Trent Water to bring tailored home energy and water efficiency advice project in Spondon as well as Alvaston and Chaddesden has now come to an end.
Over two years, the project engaged with more than 1500 people across the three wards. This was achieved through a range of services including;
• home visits to vulnerable residents - offering extra support to resolve issues with high bills or ways to keep their home warm
• 42 events - including library advice sessions, home energy road shows at events like Spondon Day and Spondon Forum and talks to groups such as Spondon Ladies Coffee Group
• 40 business visits - offered free energy audits, advice and support
The project, which was funded by Severn Trent Water, was primarily developed to help residents become more energy and water efficient, but it also provided a way for residents to keep up to date with the Severn Trent Water wind turbine development on Raynesway whilst also offering the opportunity to understand more about renewable energy.
A final case study is being developed which includes more detail about the project, including specific case studies encountered during the two years. This will be made available through the Derby City Council website or can be requested through Helen Carter from July 2015.
