A fascinating two-hour documentary about life in Spondon is now available to watch for free on YouTube.
'Spondon: Portrait of a Village' was made by local filmmaker Mark Rivers and first released in 2018. After debuting at that year's Derby Film Festival at the QUAD to a sell-out audience, it was later released for sale on DVD. Mark has now made the whole film available to view on YouTube.
The documentary tells the story of a year in the life of the Spondon community, its residents, businesses and local clubs/groups and was filmed back in 2016/17.

The film is a fascinating watch for anyone who knows Spondon. It features many familiar faces and places and meets some fantastic local characters too. Poignantly, it also features a number of people, businesses and places that are sadly no longer with us.
